Climate & Deep Tech

Long horizons, hard science, patient capital.

Climate and deep tech run on a different clock from software. Capital requirements are larger, the path from prototype to revenue is measured in years, and returns depend on project finance, offtake agreements and government support as much as on venture equity. This desk covers that mix: energy generation and storage, industrial decarbonisation, advanced manufacturing, space, and the hard-science companies that need a factory before they need a sales team. We pay attention to who funds the gap between a working pilot and a first commercial plant, because that is where most of these companies fail, and to whether the capital behind a headline round is equity, debt, or a grant doing the heavy lifting.
